Note to self: don’t threaten Barack Obama on facebook

◙  If you think facebook is a great, safe place to use an application to get a poll started asking if the president should be assassinated?  Think again folks.  Read more on this bad idea.

Could Coke be healthier than we thought?

◙  Hasn’t this memo gone out before?  Coca-Cola is modifying its labels of certain products to provide further nutritional information.  The products are sooooo good for you, that they need to create another label to show you! *side eye*  Story

Sesame Street, Obama style

◙  First Lady Michelle Obama will be appearing on Sesame Street, as part of their 40th anniversary series, to promote healthy eating.  We all know that more people need to hear and learn about that.  More on this…

Jim Balsillie just can’t catch the Coyote…

◙  Research In Motion tycoon, Jim Balsillie has been denied once again to bring an NHL franchise to Canada, after the judge for the bankruptcy case denied him.  An appeal will not be set in motion this time around – I hope there’s another chance for him to make it happen.  Are you happy Gary Bettman?  Story

What’s going on in the Pacific??

◙  First, a typhoon hits the Philippines with more rain than they see in a month; then an earthquake in underwater in the South Pacific causes a tsunami to blast through Samoa, Tonga and American Somoa, and now a huge quake also originating in the ocean, hitting Indonesia in the province of Sumatra – all in a few days.  Does anyone still believe that global warming isn’t real??  Story

Toyota orders recalls on certain cars..

Now even the show title got a divorce – no more Jon & Kate Plus 8.

with one comment

Who didn’t see this coming?  Why am I blogging about it anyways?  How do you get dropped from your own show, even if you’re barely on it?  Sounds like TLC isn’t happy with Jon’s new image, or so the rumour mill says, and dropped him from the show (wasn’t sure if it was possible being that it’s based on his family – with or without his ex-wife).  I’m sure she’s loving life now that she’s really in charge of things – will probably get a bigger cut of the profits too.  Looks like you’ll be enjoying even more of Kate’s psycho babble.  More..

Marc ‘the Prince of Pot’ Emery is going to jail.

 marc emery

Marc Emery, also famously known as ‘the Prince of Pot’, surrended to Vancouver police yesterday, for charges against him laid by the US authorities.  It looks like he’ll be serving 5 years in prison, most likely to be served somewhere in Washington state, all for selling seeds on the internet/through the mail – which he has sold all across the world and for years now.  American authorities have been after him for a long time, as they consider him to be a prime target on the war on marijuana/drugs (mmm hmm that’s what it is..).  We all know how hung up the US government is over marijuana and trying to win this everlasting drug crusade.

I hope the Prince of Pot’s last plea to Canadian authorities works out, as he should not be extradited to the US to serve his sentence – it should be done in Canada, to say the very least.  After all, it’s not like he was the one crossing the border and selling the seeds directly.  Not only that, his own country hasn’t even charged him to the same extent – even though he’s been arrested more than a dozen times.  Unfortunately, Marc Emery is going to be made an example of by US authorities to show how rough and tough they are on the war on pot..I mean drugs.  We can’t forget that the Canadian government hasn’t done much to stop the US from pushing their authority down their throats, cuz after all, it’s the USA – they can intrude in anyone’s business, in any country, at any time.  What about all the gun smugglers and people who sell guns on the net, and making large amounts of profits?  The guns that are destroying families, communities and individuals on a daily basis?  I know I’m not the only one asking these questions….what is justice now, anyways.

Emery wrote something last year on his site that definitely brings light to what’s really going on in this war on drugs…not to mention seeing the light on a potential new world order; even if it is coming from the point of view from a pot activist.  I guess we all better watch our energy consumption.  Read more from his site

Quick, delicious and only requires a few common items from your kitchen.  A sauce that can accompany so many things.  Such saucy goodness!!
Here’s an easy receipe from allrecipes.com – deeeelish.

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (only if you want to add that much, not that necessary)
